This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Watch and Code ("Watch and Code", "We", "Us") collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User", "Student").
This Privacy Policy applies to all Products and Services offered by Us. By using our Products and Services, you signify that you accept the policies outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
We collect information from Users as they interact with our website at watchandcode.com and engage with our staff through asynchronous and live interactions. The information we collect includes, but is not limited to:
- User submitted account information like name, username, and email address.
- User submitted exercises and homework, such as quizzes and assessments.
- User submitted questions and inquiries in live interactions, web forms, chat messages, email, and various other means.
- Analytics data about how Users interact with our Products and Services, such as browser name, operating system, IP address, pages viewed, and other similar information.
We collect personally indentifiable information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can refuse to supply such information, but doing so may prevent them from engaging in certain activities that pertain to our Products and Services.
How we use collected information
We use the information we collect solely for the purpose of providing support for the operations of our Products and Services. Purposes include, but are not limited to:
- To provide Students with educational support: We use past data to help us offer personalized support for individual Students.
- To provide Students with useful feedback and grades: We use Student submitted data, such as quizzes and assessments to grade work and provide feedback.
- To provide customer service: Information Users provide helps us respond to customer service requests and support needs more efficiently.
- To improve our products and services: We use information to understand how our Users use our products and services, so that we can improve them.
- To make live classes available to Students later: Live classes may be recorded so that Students can review the recordings later. Generally, recordings are only privately available to active members of our Premium Membership Program. Whenever a recording is in-progress, Zoom will notify the User, who can then choose whether or not to remain in the recorded meeting. By remaining in the meeting, User consents to the recording.
- To create progress boards: Students enrolled in our Premium Membership Program may have their username, quiz, and assessment data posted to progress boards, which are privately visible to other Students who are also enrolled in the Premium Membership Program. These progress boards are similar to "leaderboards" that are common in other educational software and applications.
- To send periodic emails: We may use email addresses to send information and updates related to our products and services. Email addresses may also be used to respond to User inquiries, questions, or other requests. Users can unsubscribe from emails by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
- To protect the safety and integrity of our users, employees, and Products and Services.
- To prevent fraud and enforce our legal rights.
